Day 1 Depart New York / JFK to Rome
Day 2 Arrive in Rome, drive through the Tuscan countryside to Assisi. Late afternoon meditative-walk through Francis' hermitage
Day 3 Pilgrimage in Assisi, including guided tours of the three major basilicas: St. Francis, St. Clare and St. Mary of the Angels; visits to St. Francis's tomb, the San Damiano Cross and the Porziuncola
Day 4 Free day in Assisi or optional excursion to Florence
Day 5 Enjoy a scenic tour along the Adriatic Coast with stops at Mt. San Angelo (site of Archangel Michael's apparition) and the House of Loreto (one of Italy's most venerated shrines). Arrive in San Giovanni Rotondo, home of St. Padre Pio's ministry
Day 6 Worship in the church and friary where St. Padre Pio lived and ministered to pilgrims. View his relics, cell, confessional and the crucifix before which he received the stigmata. After a presentation on his life, we will have the opportunity to speak with the last remaining friar who lived with St. Pio
Day 7 Depart for Rome by bus with a stop at the Abbey of Monte Cassino, the Monastery founded by St. Benedict in 529 AD
Day 8 Rome - Vatican & St. Peter's, St. John Lateran, Holy Steps, Roman Forum, and the Coliseum. Optional stroll by the Spanish Steps and evening gelato at Trevi Fountain.
Day 9 Return to New York from Rome
