Day 1 Depart JFK / Newark for Barcelona
Day 2 Upon arriving in Barcelona, we take a panoramic tour of the city en route to our hotel and welcome dinner
Day 3 We start at the whimsical, Gaudi-designed Sagrada Familia Cathedral, under construction for almost 100 years, before continuing to "Las Ramblas" and the Gothic Quarter, the 14th century Cathedral of the Holy Cross and the spectacular Mediterranean coastline
Day 4 Making our way to Montserrat, we ascend the steep rock to reach the Monastery of Montserrat. We visit the Shrine of the Black Madonna before continuing to Madrid
Day 5 We visit the Royal Basilica of San Francisco the Great, the Royal Palace and Palace Gardens before exploring the Plaza Mayor and touring the world-renowned Prado Museum. Here we take in the magnificent works of Velazquez, el Greco and Goya. Afterwards, we visit Retiro Park (Madrid's Central Park) and the Hermitage of San Antonio de la Florida
Day 6 We tour the Carmelite Convent of the Royal Barefoot Nun, one of the oldest monasteries in Madrid, and the Plaza del Sol, Madrid’s main square, where you will have some free time in the late afternoon for shopping or visiting another of Madrid’s many world-class art museums
Day 7 Today, we venture to Avila, home of St. Theresa. We tour the 12th century Avila Cathedral and the convent of St. Theresa. We see her cell, bed and infamous log-pillow. Afterwards, we visit the town’s medieval walls, the 12th century Basilica of San Vicente and 12th century Iglesia de San Pedro before returning to Madrid in the evening.
Day 8 We Return to JFK / Newark or continue to Fatima. Arriving in Lisbon, we begin our pilgrimage with stops at the city's 12th century Santa Maria Major Cathedral and the boyhood home of St. Anthony of Padua. We then continue to one of the world's oldest cities, Santarem, to see the church of St. Stephen, home of the earliest recorded Eucharistic Miracle. We will arrive in Fatima in time for dinner and the evening candle-light vigil
Day 9 This morning, we will enjoy a guided tour of the visionaries' homes in the Hamlet of Aljustrel. We will visit Valinhos, where Mary appeared to the visionaries after they returned from prison, and drink from the sacred well as well as the church where the visionaries were baptized. In the afternoon, we visit the Basilica and the graves of Francesco, Maria Lucias and Jacinta
Day 10 Return to JFK / Newark
